LEC was established in 2000 AD(2056)BS.The motto behind its emergence has been imparting age required technical education to the young minds of the country. Centralization of technical institutes, abroad and outgoing tendency of students to acquire higher technical education had been a matter of concern for us. This is another important impetus for this venture. Rural area is not found enjoying priority in higher education scheme as such LEC's establishment is an attempt of ruralization of technical education.
A peaceful environment is a must for any academicia and LEC has a very tranqual atmosphere far from the madding crowd. LEC is the only engineering college in Rupandehi district in Lumbini Zone. A group of academicians, engineers, and social workers of the region with their creative minds and many yrs. of professional experience guided by a sense of social as well as academic responsibility has promoted it to fulfill the long outstanding demand of an engineering college of Lumbini Zone.
Besides the affiliation of Pokhra University, LEC has been also recognized by Nepal Engineering Council. The Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) has ranked the college in "Effective" category providing 85% score on its evaluation depending on its academic activities physical infrastructure and lab facilities.
The college is in its own building west of Siddhartha highway near to Manglapur/Bhalwari in Karahiya VDC, Rupandehi district, between Butwal and Bhairahawa.It has developed physical and academic infrastructure by acquiring 2,23,870 Sq. feet of Land.
